  • Sbahle Mpisane returns for the second season
  • She is ready to open up about her life-changing accident

The first episode of the highly anticipated second season of Kwa Mam’Mkhize is set to exclusively stream on Showmax on 14 December.

Now a Showmax Original, the reality show follows the life of Shauwn Mkhize and her children Sbahle and Andile Mpisane. Shauwn’s daughter-in-law, Tamia Mpisane, makes her debut on the show this season.

Sbahle, who is known as a “fitness bunny”, has established herself as one of Mzansi’s most recognisable fitness influencers. In 2018, she was involved in a near-fatal car accident and she will be detailing her recovery in the second season of Kwa Mam’Mkhize.

What’s changed between the first and second seasons of Kwa Mam’Mkhize?
There is never a dull moment with the family in Season 2; there is always a buzz and something going on.

The biggest difference is that everyone has grown so much from Season 1, from our mom going through her divorce and getting her name back to my brother being married with children. Me? I was in a wheelchair and now I am standing tall.

How has being an aunt changed you?
It is a very heartwarming experience for me. I never knew I could be more receiving and welcoming until the arrival of our babies.

How did you get into the world of fitness?
Many people seem to think that I have a qualification in fitness but that is not the case. I am just someone who likes to take care of themselves both internally and externally. Fitness is something I naturally gravitated towards. It was a hobby that became an income.

Even after my accident, when I was depressed, I did not lose love for myself and my fitness. Even when I was in a wheelchair, I still took care of myself, even though I was not happy because I didn’t want to look like my problems.

What would you say to people who are going through life-changing experiences?
For anyone going through a hard time right now, I just pray that they find it in themselves to be strong, even though being strong is not easy. As someone who has been through a very dark time, I urge people to take it day by day and just appreciate the positions that they are in right now and get their minds right.

Why should people watch Season 2?
People should watch Season 2 to see the real us. They will see us as we are in our lives right now. So much has changed but there is one thing that still remains the same: the love that we all have for one another. People should watch to see how I have reclaimed my life, from being in a wheelchair and having no hope, to now being able to catwalk, which is an inspiring story to many.

Kwa Mam’Mkhize is the fourth Showmax reality show from POP24, building on the success of Bae Beyond Borders, which is currently streaming, This Body Works For Me and the record-breaking hit The Mommy Club.
