Bringing the best in the world of Agile

The latest trends, insights and the future of Agile Development in South Africa and on the African Continent will underscore this year’s sixth annual Agile Africa conference, taking place from 1 to 2 October at the Wanderers Club in Illovo, Johannesburg.

Organised by Wits University’s Joburg Centre for Software Engineering (JCSE), this two-day conference features a power-packed line-up of cutting edge discussions, new ideas, and best practice to thrive in the world of Agile Development.

This hugely popular conference will once again bring together a diverse community of South African, African and other international speakers.

There is an exciting programme of innovative and informative track sessions, workshops, breakout sessions and lightning talks.

Prof Barry Dwolatzky, Director of the JCSE comments, “We are exceptionally proud to be the title sponsor of Agile Africa for the sixth consecutive year and are equally excited to host a conference that is a pivotal indicator of the importance of Agile Development in the digital economy.

Many organisations have embraced the Agile mindset as a way of dealing with rapidly evolving digital transformation.”

As in previous years Agile Africa 2018 will offer keynote talks from leading international experts. Participants can look forward to Sonja Blignaut on Enabling adaptive cultures: From Agile to agility; Selena Delesie on The soul of Agile; John Le Drew discussing The five pillars of project management; as well as Mitch Lacey’s thoughts on Leadership Agility.

Bringing an invaluable African perspective to the conference will be the Sandra Kambo and Kaluhi Anzigale offering important insight on the growing Agile community in Kenya.

Just some of the topics to be covered in finer detail in track sessions include bridging the gap between Agile and ROI, DevOps collaboration, the challenges of legacy systems, and Agile transformation, among many others.

“Innovation and adaptability are becoming all the more important in the ever-evolving Agile space,” notes Dwolatzky. “This year’s conference is an ideal platform to share knowledge and gain valuable, practical insights.”

Agile Africa 2018 is committed to advancing Agile Development and providing a venue for ideas to flourish. Early bird tickets to the conference are sold out while a limited number of seats are still available.
