Music mogul Simon Cowell reportedly wants to revive the British wrestling scene.
Simon Cowell wants to bring British wrestling stars like Big Daddy back to TV screens.
The 55-year-old music mogul was a huge fan of the sport as a kid in the 1970s, and would love to see it make a TV return in the UK.
An insider told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “Now American wrestling’s big, I think it’s a good idea to bring it back. But you have to bring back really big people.
“Simon seemed really excited about bringing back wrestling. If anyone can get it back on the box, he can.”
Simon has previously confessed his love for the sport, revealing he used to watch wrestling as a child and would often practice the spectacular-looking moves.
Speaking during one episode of the ITV show ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, he said: “I used to watch it as a kid – I used to do it!”
This comes shortly after Simon revealed he’s given One Direction permission to go solo.
The ‘X Factor’ judge, who signed the band to his Syco record label after mentoring them to third place on the British talent show, said he doesn’t mind if the boys – Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne – work on their own individual projects on the side, as long as they remain together.
He explained: “I hear Harry is going to go solo all the time.
“My advice is they should stay together.
“They can still do things whenever they want. They should stay together.”
