Get ready for the completely combustible new track by Bliss Ü x Cobez, in the form of a Slap House version of the George Ezra road trip track, ‘Shotgun’.

Chosen for the vibes, energy and smiles the lyrics generate in the listener, the hit single ‘Shotgun’ was rebirthed during an online collab between Mzansi and New York after locally-born producer Bliss Ü connected with singer Cobez in the States through Instagram.

Connecting over their love of music, the two artists found a synergy that becomes crystal clear when Cobez’s silky smooth voice brings this happy track to life alongside the vision inspired by Bliss Ü. The result is an EDM bop that maintains the laid-back nature of the song with a mule’s kick in the chorus.

A positive, energetic lover of life and travel, in 2019 Bliss Ü had completely different plans for his life. With every intention of living in China, he was de-railed by Covid and found himself under lockdown back in South Africa, needing a creative outlet.

It was during this time Bliss Ü’s talent really began to emerge and a home studio was built, resulting in a lot of experimentation and ultimately his first single “Don’t Look Back”, released through Universal in 2020. The lockdown gave him opportunities to reach out online and meet voices and talents that would go on to become future collaborators, such as New York born and raised Josh Cobert, aka Cobez.

Unlike the late-blooming musical passions of Bliss Ü, Cobez grew up with a Grammy-nominated musician, producer and engineer for a father who exposed him to music from an extremely young age. His vast influences have given him an appreciation of all genres and Josh has lent his voice to many projects over the years, as well as having written several of his own solo tracks. When Bliss Ü proposed the idea of collaborating on ‘Shotgun’ he jumped at the chance, and after recording two versions, the duo finally settled on the single.

The merging of these two young talents would have been impossible without social media and as ‘Shotgun’ prepares to drop commercially, they are excited to see where the dynamics of their working relationship can take them. Already having laid down additional collaborative tracks for this project in their own respective studios, the curiosity and passionate drive between them will no doubt bring this power-duos names to the forefront of EDM very soon.
