“Carnival style” food festival at Liberty Midlands Mall’s Food Festival took place over the past weekend featuring gastronomic food created by the very best chefs in the region, from that of Culinary Artist Wayland Green from Granny Mouse Country House and Spa, Alex Poltera, Executive Chef of Fern Hill Hotel in Hilton, Lorenzo Giliomee of Fordoun Hotel and Spa, Dot Dicks, winner of the Great South African Bake Off, Cheryl Govender from the Cake House and Nessie Naidoo, Author of Easy Cooking who teamed up with local celebrities.

The Celebrities included East Coast Radio’s Jane linley Thomas, Terence Pillay, Rory Petzer, Msizi James; then Radio Lotus’s Shirdika Pillai, Megazone Radio’s Pierre Venter Maher, Pietermaritzburg United soccer player Kurt Leintjies and news editor Stephanie Saville, and all at the state of the art fully equipped kitchen sponsored by Aurora Interiors.

Muhammad Varachia, Centre Manager of Liberty Midlands Mall, said he was thrilled with the caliber of food served up over the weekend by the top notch chefs, as well as the junior kids zone where many children got stuck in the junior kid’s zone and try their hand at dressing cupcakes,” Varachia added.
