A fresh new Starbucks South Africa retail experience has been launched inside the brand-new Checkers FreshX store at the revamped Blueberry Square mall in Honeydew. It’s a Starbucks kiosk that delivers the much-loved iconic menu at an accessible and eye-catching outlet.

The Starbucks kiosk features the full range of Starbucks hot and cold beverages, as well as a selection of delicious treats, including muffins, brownies and macarons. The brand’s wide range of premium coffees, warm and friendly service from the skilled and knowledgeable partners – as Starbucks baristas are called – are all neatly packaged into a convenient neighbourhood location. Starbucks coffee is 99% ethically sourced and accredited by Conservation International under the C.A.F.E. Practices programme.

This is the third Starbucks store in the Starbucks and Checkers collaboration – the first two having opened late last year in Checkers FreshX stores in Rosebank and Stellenbosch. The ongoing Starbucks and Checkers partnership brings the Starbucks experience closer to home, while contributing to a world-class shopping experience for Checkers FreshX shoppers.

Manager of the Starbucks Blueberry Square store, Lesego Moalusi, says the new team is looking forward to being part of the Honeydew community. “We’re so excited to open this new concept store – the first for Starbucks in South Africa – and can’t wait to welcome the local community over the next few weeks. As we navigate our way through the third wave, the safety of our customers and our partners remains our greatest priority, and we will continue to follow guidance from both government and health authorities to keep everyone safe in our stores.”

For the first two days launch days – Wednesday, 23 June and Thursday, 24 June – the first 20 customers to visit the store during the ‘Happy Hour’ opening promotion between 15h00 and 16h00 will receive a free tall Frappuccino of their choice with their purchase of any Frappuccino.

Customers are invited to visit the store to enjoy a wide selection of handcrafted seasonal beverages, including the current hot favourites on the menu – the indulgently delicious Salted Caramel Latte, crafted from salted caramel-infused milk and espresso shots, or the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate, a decadent blend of salted caramel-infused milk and Mocha sauce, topped with whipped cream and caramel drizzle.

The newly reopened Blueberry Square mall, located on Blueberry Road off Beyers Naude, features 15 000 square metres of shopping options, with Checkers as a key anchor tenant.
