Royal Spa at The Palace, Sun City’s new luxurious wellness sanctuary has impressed guests since opening its doors at the end of last year.

Guest feedback ranges from “majestic”, “tastefully decorated” to “the most comfortable massage bed I have ever had”, with high praise for the therapists.

“Our most requested treatments are massages and couples’ treatments, which indicates that people are looking for relaxation and stress-relief,” said Spa Manager Lena Manamela. “The Royal Spa Signature Massage, a journey which combines Hot Stone, Kahuna, Balinese and Indian Head massage techniques and incorporates the use of our signature massage candle to relieve tension and nourish the skin, has been particularly in demand. Being sandal season, our Royal Spa Pedicure has also been a popular treatment among guests.”

When it comes to facials, guests have been clamouring for the iS Clinical Fire & Ice Resurfacing Facial, Radiance Facial and Royal Hydrating Facial, which are skincare therapy favourites. Guests are choosing to take home products which include trending ingredients like collagen and CBD, such as the Thalgo Collagéne 10 000 and Goodleaf CBD Oil.

The Camelot Spa Group designed the facilities and curated the treatment menu on behalf of Sun International. The palatial spa has six individual treatment rooms and three suites with hydrobaths and sensation showers, set in lush garden surroundings with water features.

“Our Kids Treatment Menu has been well received. We’ve hosted a fair number of younger visitors for treatments, most notably for Little Prince/Princess Back Massages and Majestic Mani’s.”

Guests can indulge in a traditional Middle Eastern cleansing and self-exfoliating rituals in the Rasul Chamber, or a detoxifying heat therapy in the Himalayan Crystal Salt Sauna.

Treatments range from massages to body wraps, skincare therapy and an Advanced Skin Clinic, which has up-to-the minute, world-leading skincare technologies, as well as basic maintenance such as waxing and tinting. The adjacent Royal Salon takes care of guests’ haircare styling and colour needs.

A specially-designed spa food menu ensures that guests can indulge while still remaining healthy, with light meals such as salads, smoothies and freshly pressed fruit juices, during their visit. “For those who want to raise a glass to a decadent experience, we offer GH Mumm champagne as well as Graham Beck Cap Classique, as well as red and white wine options,” Manamela.

The spa and salon are open to all Sun City residents.
