Swedish EDM DJ and electro house record producer, Avicii, has reportedly acquired a luxury home on the shores of Kenya’s coastal resort of Malindi.
According to Mixmag, Avicii, whose real name is Tim Bergling, paid $1 million for an 8-bedroom home that sits on a 25-acre plot with stunning sea views of the Kenyan coast.
Avicii’s new house has 3 swimming pools, a sauna, two Jacuzzis, a heli pad and a watersports activity bay. A team of 25 people will manage the property on a full-time basis.
The 25 year-old DJ reportedly visited Malindi for the first time in 2011 on a holiday and enjoyed his vacation so much he decided to have a holiday home there.
Malindi is a sleepy town on Malindi Bay at the mouth of the Galana River, lying on the Indian Ocean coast of Kenya. It is 120 kilometers northeast of Mombasa and is famous for snorkeling and its endless white beaches.
Despite numerous travel advisories issued against Kenya by a few western countries in the wake of terrorist attacks perpetuated by militant group Al-shabaab, Malindi has grown in popularity as a preferred seaside getaway for some of the world’s wealthiest and most famous people.
