Johannesburg, 9 October 2023: The gaming and connectivity partner of Comic Con Africa, Telkom VS Gaming, successfully elevated the gaming experience during the league finals held from September 22nd to 25th, 2023.
Comic Con Africa delivered an action-packed weekend where esports competitions, cosplay enthusiasts, artists, and passionate gamers converged to celebrate the vibrant worlds of pop culture and gaming.

This year, Telkom took the gaming experience to new heights, thrilling fans and participants in the gaming hall, where attendees had the privilege of witnessing the Telkom VS Gaming Masters, Championship, eDiski, and the High School eSport League (HSEL) finals.
Throughout the year, VS Gaming ran various online leagues for various gaming titles, with participants in this year’s finals competing for their share of R615,000.00. Fans were treated to an exciting line-up of esports tournaments at Comic Con Africa 2023:
VS Gaming Masters Season 8 Finals: The VS Gaming Masters Finals featured 40 players from eight teams, including Bravado, Nibble, Royalty, Goliath, VYBN, Nixuh, GFX MuscleMen, and KitsuneZA. The Masters champion, Bravado, secured victory with a 3-1 win against Nixuh, taking home a grand prize of R150,000.00.
VS Gaming Championship Season 3 Finals: The VS Gaming Championship finals saw eight teams, including EXDEE, Bird, White Rabbit Gaming, Monarch Realm, Unity Esports, Team Fusion, and Nixuh, competing for the championship title. The winner was EXDEE, achieving victory of 4-1 in a best of 7 against White Rabbit in a thrilling contest, taking home R20,000.00.
eDiski Season 6 Finals: Eight players competed in the eDiski finals, where Zaid April emerged as the winner, beating Aasim by 2 games to 1 in a best of 3 final. Zaid took home R80,000.00. This marked his first eDiski title.
High School Esports League (CS:GO) Season 6 Finals: The top two schools, Hoërskool Waterkloof and the returning champion Parklands College, battled for the HSEL championship title. Hoërskool Waterkloof was crowned the next VS High School CS:GO champion as they took the victory in a convincing 2-0 victory in the grand final match.
High School Esports League (Rocket League) Season 3 Finals: Hoërskool Waterkloof and Hoërskool Oos-Moot contended for 1st and 2nd place in the Rocket League High School finals. Waterkloof took home the gold by closing out the match 4-1 in their favour. With Hoërskool Waterkloof taking the victory in both the Rocket League and CS:GO titles, they walk away with a total of R110,000.00 for their school.
The VS Gaming leagues offered substantial prize pools and showcased the finest talent in South African esports. These tournaments featured intense matches, skilled players, and thrilling gameplay that captivated spectators.
