Under the banner of “Brave new cinema”, the Durban FilmMart will once again come to life this year from 4-13 September, albeit virtually. The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), is proud to once again be participating at this all-important event on the filmmakers’ calendar.
As a finance and co-production market which will create a virtual space for collaboration, planning, and discussion, DFM is perfectly positioned to advance the NFVF’s objectives of encouraging the development and distribution of local film and video products, as well as support and develop access to the film and video industry. Additionally, through the DFM platform, the NFVF will support three producers selected from the Official Projects participating in the pitching sessions, with a once-off DFM Development Incentive.
“We look forward to participating in this year’s film mart and are looking forward to hosting various panel discussions which are necessary at the moment as we battle with Covid-19 interruptions. We are also excited to have an incentive in place at DFM this year, as our industry slowly picks up momentum from the effects of a devastating pandemic. There is no doubt that what the DFM manages to accomplish every year in bringing together different voices from all around the world is nothing short of amazing,” commented Makhosazana Khanyile NFVF CEO
