With “Wake Me Up”—the mega-hit Aloe Blacc sang and co-wrote with Swedish DJ Avicii, which topped the charts in over 100 countries across the globe— the GRAMMY-nominated singer/ songwriter proved he has the irresistible power to capture the complexities of human emotion.

Aloe Blacc’s third solo album Lift Your Spirit (XIX Recordings/Interscope Records) pushed further into a folk/soul/pop fusion that’s both undeniably joyful and eye-opening in message. Adding an of-themoment twist to the music of legends like Sly Stone and Stevie Wonder, Lift Your Spirit is built on songs that pair Blacc’s poetic yet incisive lyrics with huge hooks and relentless feel-good grooves.

Featuring the hit single “The Man,” a song that topped the charts with sales of more than 3 million, Lift Your Spirit received a GRAMMY nomination for Best R&B Album at the 57th Grammy Awards. In 2019, Avicii’s family honored their son’s wish to have Aloe Blacc’s vocals feature on the first track from Avicii’s posthumous album, TIM.

The song ‘SOS’ was released in April to a welcome response from Avicii fans worldwide and topped the charts in several countries globally, hitting #1 on the US Dance Charts. He followed this with several other collaborations with hit producers David Guetta, Lost Frequencies, Gryffin, Flight Facilities, Young Bombs and Mesto.

Blacc recently joined NBC Songland as a guest judge on the brand-new reality TV show, where he collaborated with the episodes winning songwriter Kyle Williams with ‘Getting Started’ for the blockbuster movie ‘Fast & Furious presents: Hobbs & Shaw’. He has also made guest appearances on the hit TV show ‘Black-ish” and the EPIX hit “Godfather of Harlem” as well as the role of Nafloyd Scott on the James Brown biopic “Get On Up”. On Valentine’s Day 2020, Blacc will release his new solo single “I Do,” a beautiful ballad inspired by his marriage with recording artist Maya Jupiter.

For the first time, the songwriter openly discusses his personal life with lyrics like “never understood why people always say love chooses you, now I do.” Aloe Blacc says, “Luck brought us together despite living half-way across the world with a vast ocean between us. ‘I Do’ is the perfect representation of the profound love we share. I wanted to create a song for Maya that was personal and universal.” “I Do” releasing February 14, 2020 is the first single from Blacc’s forthcoming album.
