Enjoy these classic movies for just R50 at select Ster-Kinekor cinemas

22 January 2025 – As the month of love draws near, Ster-Kinekor’s Throwback Cinema promotion continues into February with a feast of romantic classics for you and your loved one to enjoy, at the classic price of just R50 per ticket.

“Bringing back popular movie titles from years gone by is proving to be a popular must-see-again option for our big screen fans and, with the discounted ticket price for these Throwback Cinema titles, what’s not to love in this month of love! Continuing this popular promotion, the February line-up includes some special Valentine-focused titles, either as repeat viewing or for a first-time big screen experience,” says Lynne Wylie, chief marketing officer at Ster-Kinekor Theatres.

When February arrives, and hopefully we can all breathe a little easier, Throwback Cinema promises some top-class classic titles at the affordable price of R50. First up, releasing on 07 February, is 10 Things I Hate About You. A high-school boy, Cameron, cannot date Bianca until her anti-social older sister, Kat, has a boyfriend. So, Cameron pays a mysterious boy, Patrick, to charm Kat. This 1999 coming-of-age romantic comedy, adapted from William Shakespeare’s play The Taming of the Shrew, stars the late Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Larisa Oleynik.

When New York editor Margaret faces deportation, she convinces her assistant Andrew to marry her in return for a promotion. However, when she visits his hometown, it changes her in many ways. Directed by Anne Fletcher, the movie stars an award-winning cast including Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds, Mary Steenburgen, Craig T. Nelson and Betty White.

His brother is not convinced, which leads to further complications. Directed by Jon Turteltaub, the film also stars Bill Pullman, Peter Gallagher and Peter Boyle.
