Trellidor and Siyabonga Nomvethe team up to build stronger communities through football
Sponsorship aims to grow South Africa’s most loved sport while focusing on community support and development
South Africa’s ultimate crime barrier, Trellidor, has partnered with football legend Siyabonga Nomvethe, who will serve as a Trellidor brand ambassador, with sponsorship extending to support the impactful initiatives of the Siyabonga Nomvethe Foundation. Established in 2023, the Foundation believes in the transformative power of sports to inspire confidence, instill valuable life lessons, and create a brighter future for young South Africans. Seeking to make an undeniable impact on its communities, Trellidor supports and shares the vision of Siyabonga Nomvethe, believing in the investment in empowering young athletes to reach their full potential, both on and off the field.

Sharing a vision for sport and the impact it can have, South African football legend Siyabonga Nomvethe believes that a passion for football starts with a deep love for the game – something he has cultivated throughout his illustrious career and hopes to inspire in young players. “With support from Trellidor as our partner, our foundation can drive impactful change. The support will not only play a crucial role in helping us achieve our goals, but importantly, it will help create lasting change in our communities,” says Nomvethe.

The concept of safer communities is central to the Trellidor mission, this initiative focuses on that from a different perspective. “Making communities safer from within matters and by partnering with the Siyabonga Nomvethe Foundation, we’re helping to address issues like crime, drugs, and substance abuse from the ground up,” says Judge.
As a local icon, Siyabonga Nomvethe embodies values Trellidor champions – resilience, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Nomvethe’s rise from humble beginnings to becoming the PSL’s top scorer with 123 goals, alongside his 81 national caps and 16 international goals, serves as an inspiring example for young South Africans. His achievements and commitment to community upliftment make him an ideal ambassador for this initiative.
Nomvethe envisions football as a powerful tool to guide youth away from crime, drugs, and substance abuse. “For me, football motivates any young person to strive for better. With support from Trellidor, the foundation can reach more children, cultivate a love for the game, and inspire a generation focused on living fulfilling, positive lives,” says Nomvethe.
This partnership will see Nomvethe actively serve as a Trellidor brand ambassador, with initiatives including youth football clinics, the launch of a Trellidor School Football Tournament, donations of kit and equipment, and a football talent identification programme aimed at nurturing future talent.
