Pretoria, 8 March 2021 TV and radio personality Kriya Gangiah has always loved her furry four-legged friends. Having two beautiful dogs at home, Kriya is passionate about raising funds to help shelters around the country keep stray and abandoned dogs fed and safe as they continue their search for their forever home. Now, the media personality is thrilled to reveal that her popular yearly fundraiser Bark In The Park (www.barkinthepark.co.za) returns on 28 March – and encourages those in and around the Gauteng region to bring their furry friends for a fun day out.

Founded by Kriya Gangiah in 2015, Bark in the Park is dedicated to raise funds and awareness for animal welfare organisations in Pretoria. The event is an annual canine mass-cultural event, drawing hundreds of dogs, faithful humans and exhibitors, from across Gauteng. A family fun event, Bark in the Park is a ground-breaking celebration of dogs, an occasion for humans and companion animals to enjoy a day out in the sun. The event plays host to exhibitors offering every form of canine consumer luxury. There isn’t a toy, fashion line, treat or exclusive service for dogs that can’t be found at Bark in the Park. Visitors will also be treated to a variety of food stalls and other exciting vendors.

While the 2020 event was postponed because of the Covid-19 coronavirus, Kriya is thrilled that the event is making it’s highly-anticipated return this year. This year, Bark In The Park will be hosted at the Pretoria Rugby Club on Sunday 28 March between 09:00 and 14:00 and at just R50 entrance, promises to be an eventful day for both humans and canines while raising much-needed funds for Pretoria Dog Rescue. Bark In The Park is 100% Covid-19 compliant event and the health and safety of guests remains a number one priority.

“The idea started from wanting to do something meaningful for my birthday,” Kriya explains on how the concept behind Bark In The Park came to life. “Being a Pretoria girl, I wanted to give back to the local community and I wanted to support the one thing that brings so much joy to my life – animals. The 2021 edition of Bark In The Park will be our 3rd official event and I cannot wait to host you and your furry friends this year.”

Date: Sunday 28 March 2021
Venue: Pretoria Rugby Club (75 Toitus Street, Groenkloof)
