Universal Music Group signs superstar DJ and producer Afrojack DOWNLOAD AFROJACK PRESS PHOTO HERE (Photo Credit: Frits van de Clips) Dutch DJ and electronic pioneer Afrojack and his Wall Recordings label unveiled as new signing to Virgin Records Germany and Universal Music Netherlands in cooperation with UMG’s newly launched dance and electronic music hub in Central Europe, dedicated to EDM. Virgin Records Germany and Universal Music Netherlands, today announced the signing (and return) of GRAMMY Award-winning producer and multi-platinum-selling electronic dance music icon Afrojack, under a new partnership between the two labels. The signing of this global dance sensation and his label, Wall Recordings, also marks the first collaborative signing under Universal Music Central Europe’s newly launched dance and electronic music hub, which was set up to provide support and amplify success for independent electronic artists and labels within Central Europe, providing access to UMG’s global resources and networks to help build future worldwide EDM hits. As a globally renowned Producer and DJ, Afrojack is at the epitome of superstardom – not just in the world of electronic dance music (EDM), but also as a celebrated producer, having worked with a star-studded list of iconic artists, including Beyoncé, Pitbull and will.i.am. He’s been featured in Forbes magazine’s highly coveted ’30 under 30′ list in the music industry and was also the first DJ ever to leave his handprints on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This new partnership agreement also includes a partnership with Afrojack‘s own label, Wall Recordings, which since founding in 2007, has released numerous classic singles and collaborations from his extensive network of musical peers, as well as releases from both new and established artists. A contributing factor to his decision to rejoin UMG was the recent launch of a newly-established dance/electronic hub under Universal Music Central Europe which combines expertise and experience in some of the world’s biggest pop music markets, and throughout Central Europe including Germany, Sweden, Italy and the Netherlands amongst others to create a new and dedicated international focus with global ambitions for new artist partners, from the moment they start working with the organization. The dance hub team will identify artists across Europe and beyond that might benefit from the support of this new division. The first single ‘Day & Night’ by Afrojack & Black V-Neck feat. Muni Long will be released on August 12th. It will be accompanied by a pre-release campaign on TikTok, extensive digital marketing flights, global club and radio campaigns and various official video content.
