Unlocking A World Of Opportunities For Unemployed Youth With All4youth

Calling Sub-Saharan Africa’s unemployed youth to register now

Youth unemployment remains one of the major challenges in the African continent, however, many efforts have been made by various organisations to address this issue.

The All4YOUth Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Alliance provides unemployed youth with an opportunity to unlock their potential by launching a registration system for unemployed youth to register their profiles.

The Alliance for YOUth (or All4YOUth) is an alliance of like-minded companies working together to help young people around the globe get the necessary skills to thrive in the world of work. Today alliances exist at a global level, in zones and in regions and were recognised in the World Economic Forum in Davos 2019.

The All4YOUth SSA Alliance is a collaborative intervention spearheaded by various multinational companies across Sub-Saharan Africa.  Its primary objective is to create and implement employability programmes, mentorship and training initiatives that will equip the youth with essential workplace skills.

Speaking about the collaboration, Desiree Zikalala, Head of Learning and Organisational Design at Nestlé East and Southern Africa Region (ESAR) emphasised the importance of bridging the gap between a required skill and a job output.

“We need practical programmes that are aimed at giving tangible skills when it comes to job creation for young people. As an alliance, we really want to make a more meaningful impact through our collaborative efforts hence our launch of the registration system.

We, therefore, encourage young people to register as well as follow the different All4youthSSA social media pages to stay updated with what is next,” stated Zikalala.

To date, 6 companies have joined the Alliance in Sub Saharan Africa: Nestle, ABB, Adcorp group, Nielsen Africa, Publicis and Microsoft.

By using the USSD *120*5676# to register their profiles, unemployed youth in Sub-Saharan Africa get to receive career guidance and increase their chances of being prospective employees.
