Victor Ray Releases New Single ‘Halfway There’
Plays Sold Out Show at Lafayette on 29th May
‘Halfway There’ is the new single from Victor Ray and the follow up to his smash hit ‘Comfortable’, released in January. The release arrives alongside the news that Victor, fast on his way to becoming a global superstar, has sold out his London headline show at Lafayette on 29th May in under 6 hours, meaning he has now sold out every show he has played to date in London, not to mention 2 headline European tours.
With 1.5million instagram followers to his name, 4.2 million followers and over a billion views across all socials, Victor Ray is one of the hottest new talents around. ‘Comfortable’ has been on constant rotation at BBC Radio 1, with plays across the station including being named both Jack Saunders’ Track of the Week and the BBC Introducing Track of the Week.
The new single strikes a different note to the epic soul of ‘Comfortable’ and showcases the RnB influence in Victor’s music. The bassline’s irresistible groove underpins the instrumental, whilst Victor’s immaculate vocals glides around the music, moving effortlessly in and out of falsetto. Speaking about the track’s lyrics, as ever managing to be personal and universal at once, Victor says “Halfway There is a song about the excitement around meeting your crush for the first time. To the extent that all caution is thrown to the wind.”
‘Halfway There’ and ‘Comfortable’ will feature on Victor Ray’s third EP, due for release later this year on Decca Records.
