Wanted Street robbing menace to society caught – Centurion

A vehicle flagged as a high priority vehicle, wanted for numerous street robberies and house break-ins was spotted and stopped in Highveld Centurion on 11 February.

The successful arrest was as a result of a well-planned joint ops. Collaboration between SAPS, Fidelity ADT and other private security companies. 

Charnel Hattingh Group Head of Marketing & Communications at Fidelity ADT says that once the Fidelity ADT team received information on the whereabouts of the vehicle a white Hyundai i10 vehicle, they immediately responded and it was spotted entering the Highveld residential area. Lyttelton SAPS unit together with Fidelity ADT and other security companies pulled over the vehicle and the suspect was apprehended.

The vehicle was searched and an unlicensed firearm and suspected stolen property was discovered.

“The suspect was linked to several house break cases in Centurion.  Well done to the teams. This once again highlights the importance of communities, security companies and SAPS working together. Everyone in the community can play a role in helping to prevent crime. A community working together is a safer, happier community,” she concludes.
