Starz has presented the first trailer for the new drama series starring and produced by rapper Curtis Jackson, aka 50 Cent.
[full]Created by The Good Wife producer and writer Courtney Kemp Agboh, Powe” will center on James Ghost St. Patrick, the owner of a New York night club.
His ambitions of building an empire could be held back by his lucrative but illegal side venture: dealing drugs.
Omari Hardwick (Kick Ass) will play this central character, co-starring with Lela Loren (H+), Naturi Naughton (Mad Men) and Joseph Sikora (Boardwalk Empire).
As announced by Starz at the start of the project, 50 Cent will appear on screen in Power in addition to producing.
The rapper will appear in the recurring role of Kanan, James Ghost St. Patrick’s longtime friend.
The series — which will revolve around the themes of family, wealth, danger, death and of course power — will be soundtracked by a few original songs produced by 50 Cent himself. Starz will air Power this summer.[/full]
