Often times we become so engrossed with chasing money, taking care of the kid’s and the family, we make an effort to complete studies and attempt to keep up with trends. Before we know it, the list has become endless and we forget to have some “ME TIME”
Stacey Flowers offers suggestions on how we can take a step back from all the madness and start to plan around those “ME TIME” moments. Her piece of advice is very thought-provoking and certainly worth pondering on.
See below
Every seven days, take a day off.
Sleep earlier than usual/ after work sit and do absolutely nothing/ when your chill day falls on a Friday, go for sundowners.
Every seven weeks, take a week off.
Do the above tips every day for this week/plan a nice relaxing activity for the weekend with friends or family/ Netflix in peace.
Every 7 months take a month off.
For many it may not be possible to take the whole month off, so plan fun and relaxing activities for all weekends for the month; read a book at a cafe/ go for a picnic/ go for a weekend getaway/sleep for the whole day.
Every seven years, take one year off.
Same as above it might not be possible to take a full year. Consider taking a break from your studies (especially if you are studying a demanding qualification) dedicate time to travel more.
