In the latest reports posted by WABetaInfo report, a blog that tracks WhatsApp developments, the Facebook-owned social messaging app is working on rolling out a number of useful features for iOS users in the version 2.20.10.
We bring you the latest updates of WhatsApp for iOS-enabled devices. The features will be available in the app’s next version on Apple’s App Store.
Dark theme:
Among all the features, the most anticipated Dark Mode feature update is still under development for both Android and iOS users.
The blog reports that this WhatsApp feature is not any update on the Dark Theme and the update is not available yet, but the social messaging app is working on updates which would be compatible with iOS 13, the blogs states.
However, there is an interesting update that was spotted by the blog. There is is possibility that the Dark Theme is somewhat visible. The blog explained,” When you share something in WhatsApp, for example a photo from your Camera Roll, you see the Dark Theme!”
Contacts Integration:
There also seems to be a contact integration update for iOS updates. According to the blog post, this feature will let users share items directly with some suggested WhatsApp contacts using the new iOS share sheet. This essentially means that when you directly try to share a file, image or document on from your iPhone, the iPhone will enable the WhatsApp icon by default along with the system sharing apps such as Mail and Airdrop.
Low Data Mode:
This is a fresh update for iOS users. Earlier, the low data usage feature was only available during WhatsApp calling, but now it has integrated the feature on the app itself. This feature will reduce the amount of the instant messaging app’s network data usage.
How will low data mode work on WhatsApp:
According to the blog post, once you enable the mode, WhatsApp will automatically stop to download media from cellular, even if you have configured different auto download settings. Low Data Mode will also stop to auto-download voice messages. This is a brand new feature that will help users to access the app for messaging purposes even in weak internet areas.
Apart from these new features, the popular messaging app is also nearing towards the roll out of the Delete Message feature for its Android users, which will automatically delete messages after a particular time period set by the user and make it look like the message never existed.
