While live Tweeting Oscars red carpet looks at the Oscars last night, popular beauty blog ‘Total Beauty’ mixed up Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah Winfrey.
Goldberg was showing off her tattoo in her off-the-shoulder black gown at Sunday’s Oscars. She wore her signature dreadlocks, which have never been a look for Winfrey, and … well, she just doesn’t look like the TV personality, period.
Total Beauty apologized later on Twitter, saying, “We’d like to apologize to Oprah and Whoopi, as well as everyone we’ve offended. It was our error, and there are no excuses. We’re sorry.” The site later announced that it was donating $10,000 to the charity of Goldberg and Winfrey’s choice.
In contrast to Goldberg’s dressed-up look, Winfrey was lounging in pajamas and cozy socks with “CBS This Morning” host Gayle King and her daughter, Kirby Bumpus.
Oprah’s longtime BFF, Gayle King, posted an Instagram of her looking at her phone and reacting to an outlet naming her as an arrival on the red carpet for tonight’s 88th Academy Awards by mistake.
Gayle captioned the candid post, “@Oprah & favorite daughter watching #Oscars & seeing @totalbeauty snafu! We all love @whoopigoldberg but we don’t all look alike Jeeeze!”
