The time has come for all Durban’s trendiest young fashion designers to shine!
Contestants will compete for prizes worth R150 000 (consisting of retail space at the Centre for 6 months, smart phones from Vodacom, R20 000 prize money and many more) in a unique 120-minute ‘live garment making challenge’ at The Workshop Shopping Centre on Saturday, 14 September 2019 at 12 noon.
The Top 10 designers who have been selected to come up with innovative garment designs to excite the audience, are: Sithembhile Mncango, Sashika Bhojraj, Mfundo Mtshali, Thoba Mbhelu, Anele Tsoeu, Makhosazane Ntshangase ,Ndumiso Madontsela , Sanele Sibisi, Nompumelelo Mjadu and Judaine Naidoo.

The Top 10 will also be exposed to the cream of the crop in the fashion industry via The Workshop’s judging panel, which includes Durban-based designer Mxolisi Mkhize, founder of The House of St Luke, Kwenzi Nkomo, founder and designer of Indoni Fashion House as well as Lindiwe Kuzwayo, founder of the Lindiwe Kuzwayo Fashion Design Studio and Lindiwe Kuzwayo Academy of Fashion.
Members of the public are warmly invited to join The Workshop for a day of fashion fun, packed with awesome shows and live entertainment – on Saturday, 14th September 2019, at 12 pm.
The shopping centre is excited to be aligned with this community-upliftment project and looks forward to making a difference in the long run – helping young people start their own businesses within the fashion industry and make big waves in the fashion world.
